Acknowledgement of First Nations People

We acknowledge the diverse cultures, histories, and ancestral connections of all First Nations people. We begin by recognising the Kaurna and Gumbaynggirr People, the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, and extend our recognition to Indigenous communities around the world. We honour their enduring relationships with their ancestral lands, waters, and cultures. We pay our respects to their elders, both past and present.

Reconciliation Statement

We acknowledge the profound significance placed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities on holistic well-being encompassing social, emotional, spiritual, and cultural dimensions. This comprehensive life perspective underscores the imperative for community and social services to strive toward actualising an environment where each individual realises their fullest potential, thereby fostering an overall well-being throughout all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Climate Change Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that climate change constitutes the foremost global health crisis on the 21st century, and the existing carbon reduction commitments on both the Australian and International fronts fall significantly short of the requisite measures to avert this crisis. Despite the imperative for substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate the risks of climate change, global emissions persistently escalate. The looming threat to present and future generations amplifies with each passing year. The current generation bears a profound responsibility to undertake all possible measures to shield today's children and those of the future from the crisis of climate change. Therefore, it is imperative to designate climate change as an immediate priority for advocacy, research, policy, and practice.
